Our Pocono Adventure

We got back a few days ago from a small getaway trip to the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, and it was the perfect way to welcome in 2021!

We had previously visited the Poconos a couple of years ago with a large group but this time it was much much better. Let me jump into the details of our stay.

We rented this airbnb house:

It was very spacious with 3 rooms (queen sized beds in all), inside and outside fireplaces and had plenty of complimentary items that made our stay feel very welcoming. The complimentary items included: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, body lotion, plenty of freshly washed towels, an assortment of board games and video games, plenty of wood to light fire, fully stocked kitchen and even breakfast ingredients such as pancake mix and coffee.

The house also included a four seasons room, equipped with a full size swing and bench!

We took advantage of the wood-burning fireplace in the living room, which made the atmosphere feel super cozy, and there was a big screen tv right above it which was great for movies!

At night we lit the fire pit and made s'mores while looking at the stars (did I mention that the s'mores were also complimentary?)

The grounds were very beautiful and the house is surrounded by a creek. The sound of the water moving was very relaxing through the day and even at night. My favorite part was having snow on the second and third days because it made it look like a winter wonderland!

Waking up to this view was so calming

We also decided to go snow tubbing to the Camel Back Resort, which was literally 6 minutes away from our airbnb.

The fee was $38 per person (fees vary per day of the week) and it included 2 hours of "unlimited snow tubing fun" (haha). We took our 2-year-old and I saw other children there as well (kids must be over 33 inches of height to be allowed in). It was definitely a fun (& family- friendly) activity. Plus the views from the mountain top were amazing!

We took this video at sunset as we enjoyed hot cocoa by the fire, so very romantic!

Our Airbnb was at a great location, which had nearby Walmart, restaurants, and The Crossings outlet mall (with over 100 stores!).

Overall this was such a needed getaway trip, especially with all of the restrictions Covid-19 has brought us. We felt comfortable taking our son on the 2-hour drive and he had plenty of fun. I highly recommend the house we stayed in, we actually want to go back in the summer.
